Game Three - Kettering away

26th July 2008

A real away pre season game involving a train and everything!! Happy days!! And boy was I prepared - what more could you need for an away trip to Kettering??

Bumped into a mate I knew on the train and so we and a couple of other guys we met on the train jumped in a taxi and headed to a pub near the ground before making the short walk to the A-Line arena. Beautiful sunshine, open stands and a first team squad. Should make for a good day!

An early goal from a sharp Matty Fryatt put us a goal to the good before a header from Nicky Adams doubled the advantage. Kettering reduced the deficit to 2-1 with a header from a corner after some shocking defending - So much for a clean sheet!!

Nicky Adams second and our third put us firmly in control going into the break. Confidence grew as the game went on and the players never really looked like conceeding anymore.
DJ Campbell's first of pre season in the second half made it 4-1 and from then on we just saw the game out comfortably.

The police were called out in the second half after numerous streakers and shoes appeared on the pitch as the lone Steward couldn't handle things on his own ... bless him! Next stop, the first home game of pre season against Birmingham!
